Inspired by the organization of creatives that addresses threats to the oceans, Parley for the Oceans, these beach huts call attention to the problem of ocean trash.
The palm trees have geometric skin manufactured from recycled high density polyethylene, which makes up most of the trash dumped in the ocean.
Each hut is accessible by climbing a steel rope ladder and entering the floor through a trap door. Photovoltaic cells laminated onto the recycled HDPE scales generate electricity for lighting and to power the ceiling fan in each unit.
