A collaboration between New York-based firms TO+WN Design and AJSNY brings us 3D printed tiles that fit together perfectly to create an accurate cityscape of New York City’s topography.
“Microscape” is a project that produces 1:5000 scale models based off of up-to-date aerial scan data.
The models are durable white thermoplastic derived from non-toxic cornstarch, which is safe to handle and biodegradable.
The team plans to create tiles that represent other cities all over the world. Their kickstarter campaign has the details.
